Susurrus

PH03839I

The whisper of predawn light, promising a fulfilling day

The sigh of the north wind, promising a quenching rain

The murmur of corn leaves in the breeze, promising a plentiful harvest

The hum of honeybees, promising honey for the table

The susurrus of the earth, promising peace.

(Thanks to Jan Blencowe for the inspiration for the poem. She writes a lovely blog called The Poetic Landscape.)

  1. What a beautiful picture! Is this somewhere close to your home? Nice poem to go with it - great combination, and lovely way to start the week. Thanks!

  2. LOL Joanne! You have forgotten my incapacity to take nice photos! It's Microsoft Office clip art! But the poem is mine :)
